By default, Hive uses embedded Derby database for its metastore. However, you can choose to enable remote database (MySQL) for Hive metastore.

Unzip and copy the downloaded JAR file the
/usr/lib/hive/lib/directory on your Hive host machine.Ensure that the JAR file has appropriate permissions.
